Bugs in gnome/unity may require keybinding changes.

• user preference file: ~/.gconf/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/%gconf.xml
• global fix: [1]
  • edit /var/lib/gconf/debian.defaults/%gconf-tree.xml
  • search for show_desktop and blank out the string (or change <super> to <ctrl><alt>)
