Solidworks is a parametric feature based solid modeling CAD package. Solidworks also comes with the COSMOS analysis package.

Software availability[edit]

Solidworks is installed in the Harris lab and several CAD labs in different departments. Students can also get access to Solidworks on their own computers via several methods.

Solidworks Engineering site license[edit]

Engineering students can download SolidWorks from CECS and register to use the college license. These directions are for personally owned computers. For lab computers, ask your department's tech to register the computer for you.

Solidworks Contests and Sponsorships program[edit]

Apply for a free copy of SolidWorks at the SolidWorks Student Design Competitions page.

Fill out the form and submit it. You should do this at the beginning of senior design so you can get it before your start doing your analysis.

Student version[edit]

If you are not eligible for either of the above versions, Solidworks sells a student version to students and faculty.
